Dear All,
I am in the middle of organising an event where 5 people plan to kitesurf across the Bristol Channel (from Woolacombe to Swansea) in October 2014 as a promotional event for University of Wales Trinity Saint David (Swansea). This is a distance of ~33 miles.
Obviously there will be the need for safety boats to support this event. We will probably need two boats – one to lead and one to follow.
The exact time/date of this event is not known as it is obviously weather dependent, we have currently pencilled in the weekends of 4th October and the 18th October hoping for some wind at some point over these weekends to enable the event to take place. The crossing should be in the region of 3 hours. What I envisage I will have to do, is to have several companies/people on ‘stand-by’ depending on their availability and exactly when the event takes place.
Obviously the University will pay for this support.
Full details of this event can be found at www.facebook.com/TheBristolChannelKitesurfCrossing
Are you interested in providing this support? If so, please contact me (either by replying to this message – or through Facebook), to discuss this further.
Alternatively, do you know of anyone that would be interested in supporting this?
Kind Regards,
Kelvin
